Bradford man attacked two police officers and was racist to a sergeant

A MAN from Bradford attacked two police officers and was racist to a sergeant.

Ishmael Deacon-Wildman, 32, of Lime Vale Way, in Buttershaw was sentenced at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court last Monday for three offences.

These were two counts of assaulting an emergency worker and racially/religiously aggravated fear/provocation of violence by words/writing.

Deacon-Wildman pleaded not guilty to all three offences on December 19 last year and a trial date was set for May 8, 2024.

The case actually went ahead the day before but Deacon-Wildman did not appear so a warrant for his arrest was issued by the courts, and he was proved guilty in his absence.

The 32-year-old assaulted PC Metcalfe and and PC Tanday in Bradford on March 5, 2023.

That same day he also used threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour towards PS Wattley that the court deemed to be racially aggravated.

Deacon-Wildman was handed a one-year community order for his crimes.

This included 150 hours of unpaid work and he must complete up to 10 Rehabilitation Activity Requirement (RAR) days.

He was also ordered to pay £199 in total - which included £85 in costs and a surcharge of £114 to fund victim services.
