Brazil Sends Aid, Emergency Crews and Sniffer Dogs to Turkey

Brazil sent aid, rescue crews and sniffer dogs to Turkey after powerful earthquakes struck the region on Monday, February 6.

Footage released by the Brazilian Air Force on February 9 shows rescue crews and aid being loaded onto a plane at a Sao Paulo airbase.

According to Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the flight that departed from Guarulhos in Sao Paulo carried 42 people, including 34 fire specialists and medical and civil defense personnel, as well as sniffer dogs.

The country’s Ministry of Regional Development said six tons of equipment were also sent to assist in searches and to support teams during their mission.

Anadolu Agency, a state-run news agency in Turkey, reported that at least 17,674 people were killed across the country.
