Brazilian boy, aged eight, filmed speeding down dual carriageway on toy TRICYCLE

This young Brazilian boy showed a need for speed at just eight years old - by speeding along an expressway on his toy tricycle.

The unnamed youngster was captured flying along the Elevado Paulo de Frontin expressway in downtown Rio de Janeiro on his small three-wheeler.

Astonishing footage shows the boy speeding along the two-lane carriageway as cars thunder past him on the outside lane.

The precocious youngster appears oblivious to the danger he is in, gesturing to fellow road users and even giving a thumbs-up to one shocked passing motorist.

He continues to fly down the slope of the carriageway into Avenida Presidente Vargas, and even drags his mini vehicle from the hard shoulder at the end into the inside lane for another trip.

A Brazilian local TV reporter who filmed the incident eventually catches up with the child and asks him if he was scared, to which he simply replies: 'No'.

Local media also managed to track down the boy's family to a small nearby premises opposite Rio City hall and close to the motorway.

The child's mother would not comment, and media reports claimed that the boy and his two older brothers have since been taken into care.
