A golf club's ladies' section has rallied to raise funds for a hospital unit.

The group at King’s Lynn Golf Club organised several events to garner £5,000 for The Queen Elizabeth Hospital's breast care unit in King’s Lynn.

The Ladies section's charitable gestures over the years have benefitted a range of causes and this year, the group decided to direct its efforts towards this specific hospital unit.

Activities in aid of the fundraiser included golf events, coffee mornings, raffles and even a fashion show.

Lady captain, Jane Reavell, said: “I chose the Breast Care Unit because it was local and breast cancer can affect anyone of any age or sex.”

Elaine Rudd, senior breast care specialist nurse at The QEH, said: “Thanks to the amazing fundraising of the King’s Lynn Golf Club, the Breast Care Unit can continue to provide future patients with specialised equipment such as a larger variety of breast prosthesis and mastectomy bras.

“We are always looking for ways to make our patient's breast cancer journey as easy as we can and items like goes a little way toward doing just that.”
