Brendan Rodgers tipped his hat to Aberdeen hotshot Bojan Miovski after he opened the scoring in Saturday's Scottish Cup semi-final classic.

The North Macedonia international has been in sparkling form for the struggling Dons this season, rattling 24 goals in 48 games. That's put him on the radar of Southampton, with Celtic also heavily linked. Incoming boss Jimmy Thelin will be desperate to keep ahold of the goal machine but the Pittodrie club's hand could be forced should a big money bid come their way in the summer.

Rodgers admitted he was a fan of the 24-year-old after Miovski terrorised the Hoops backline and netted his third goal of the season against the Double-chasers. And while Celts progressed into the final via a nail-biting penalty shoot-out, Rodgers confessed that Miovski caused his defence problems.

He told BBC Scotland: "I think we weren’t tight enough in our positioning and as I said, they were quite bright in midfield and combined really well to get through.

"He’s a good player, their striker. So yeah, there was just too much space. We were away on the attack before we’ve even secured the ball and they scored a very good goal so you have to give them credit for that."
