Briarcliff Sets 2025 Wide Theatrical Release For Heartfelt Drama ‘Nickels’

Briarcliff Entertainment wrapped and has set a 2025 wide theatrical release on Nickels, a life affirming drama directed by Spencer King (The Wilderness), and starring Rob Riggle, Aaron Holliday, Bitsie Tulloch, Rebecca Gayheart, Vinessa Shaw with Odessa A’zion and Tom Arnold. Tim Tuchrello wrote the script.

Briarcliff CEO Tom Ortenberg green lit the film, which has been shooting in and around Los Angeles. Riggle stars as Tom Monroe, a successful entrepreneur and family man who tragically lost his older brother in a motorcycle accident as a teenager. Some 30 years later, another serious bike accident involving his neighbor’s son, Mitch Diller(Holliday) sets in motion a series of events that have Tom wondering if his brother has perhaps returned to his life. Tulloch plays the wife who tries to be supportive.
Ortenberg produced with Danielle Goodman Strong, Andrew Ortenberg and Jordan Dykstra. Executive Producers include Tuchrello, Russell Geyser and Clay Pecorin of Rainmaker Films, and Ellen Wander.

More from Deadline

“Tim Tuchrello’s script resonated deeply, and having seen Spencer King’s two previous character driven films, we knew he was our director. Nickels is a compassionate, heartfelt story dealing with the grief of losing a loved one too soon, as well as the hope and belief that we are still somehow connected, and Spencer told our story beautifully.”

Danielle Goodman Strong added, “We all want to believe our deceased loved ones are still with us somehow. Being open to signs, such as objects in our path or songs we hear, brings comfort, insight and even validation, that love really is eternal. If you think you’ve had a sign, then yes you did. That’s what Nickels is about, and compassionately touches the heart of anyone who wants to believe. This is what I so passionately want to bring to audiences.”

Riggle is represented by UTA and Artists First; Holliday by Paradigm; Tulloch by Authentic Talent and Luber Rocklin; Gayheart by Gersh and Untitled; Shaw and Arnold by Buchwald and A’zion by UTA and Luber Rocklin.
