Britain Has A New Favourite Fast Food Chain...And It’s A Surprising Choice

It seems the days of the ‘Big 3’ fast food restaurants dominating the taste buds of hungry Brits are over as a young pretender has just stolen the crown.

McDonald’s, Burger King and KFC have had to take a humble step back as burger chain Five Guys is now officially Britain’s favourite fast food eatery.

Despite only being launched in the UK in 2013 and not found on every high street, Five Guys has won the hearts of naughty food fans everywhere.

Chicken chain - and favourite of celebs and first daters - Nandos, fell to second place after taking the title last year.

Gourmet Burger Kitchen completed the top three, with KFC and Burger King having to settle for fourth and fifth place, respectively.

Cheryl Flink, Chief Strategy Officer for Market Force - who conducted the survey of 4,500 diners - said: “The quick service restaurant category is evolving all the time, with new chains launching and arriving from overseas.

"Our research shows the quick traction of newcomer Five Guys - guests really appreciate the tasty burgers and think the brand offers great value.”

Five Guys offers up a relatively small range of burgers - but diners can then add as many toppings as they like for no extra price.

Elsewhere, Pret A Manger topped the favourite cafe category, with Caffe Nero and Greggs taking the next two spots.

And Pizza Express beat out tough competition from Dominos and Pizza Hut to take the favourite pizza chain crown.

The survey also revealed that JD Wetherspoon is Britain’s favourite pub.

Anyone else really hungry right now?
