Britain's Got Talent viewers were left confused by a CGI animation of a singing cat auditioning on the show.

The judges, including Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden, were seen chatting to Noodle the cat when it 'appeared' on stage with a microphone stand at the auditions at the London Palladium.

When Noodle burst into song, performing Nina Simone's Feeling Good with a strong male voice, the audience were all shown gasping with surprise before the judges put the cat through the next round.

Animal-loving judge Cowell said: "I always said 'One year a singing animal would win Britain's Got Talent.' I didn't necessarily believe it. I never thought I would one day be talking to a cat saying I loved your singing voice. But I am. And I think Noodle, you possibly could win the show."

One viewer asked: "I'm confused, what could the audience see during this 'cat' act cause that's an animation?"

And another said: "But the audience wouldn't be able to see that cat...?"

One baffled viewer asked: "Is that cat there…or…explain please."

Other viewers were not only confused by the auditions - but found it disturbing.
