Britain’s Got Talent: Viewers Accuse Show Of ‘Fix’ After Boogie Storm Win Final Place

A storm is brewing between Britain’s Got Talent and their loyal viewers - a Boogie Storm, to be precise.

Yep, if you didn’t see Tuesday’s semi-final (May 24), Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer act, dancing Stormtroopers called Boogie Storm, won a place in Saturday’s grand final, beating 14-year-old dancer Jack Higgins.

The decision was taken to the public vote as the judges were split over who to put through between the two, with Simon and Amanda Holden choosing to save Boogie Storm while David Walliams and Alesha Dixon chose to put Jack through.

However, despite the Stormtroopers receiving more viewer votes and getting a standing ovation from the judges, some viewers are claiming the result was a fix.

After Ant & Dec skipped past Alesha to get David’s decision before hers, one viewer tweeted: “Why did Ant and Dec bypass Alisha first like what? Jack definitely needed to go through but what kind of tactic was that?! #BGT [sic]”.

Another wrote: “#BGT2016 @AmandaHolden has just confirmed today that BGT it’s fix singing jack’s praises all night and voting against him how hypocrite [sic]”.

Though there were, of course, those on the Stormtroopers’ side, others said they ‘only got through because they were the Golden Buzzer act’.

Magician Richard Jones also has a place in the final, alongside 100 Voices of Gospel, Mel & Jamie, Wayne Woodward and Alex Magala.

Britain’s Got Talent continues on ITV at 7.30pm
