'Britain's Most Unwanted Dog' Finally Finds Forever Home

A dog that had been previously referred to as “Britain’s most unwanted dog” found his “forever home” after more than four years in care, according to Dogs Trust.

Jake the Lurcher had been passed around to several homes before arriving in the care of Dogs Trust in 2015, the charity said.

Dogs Trust initially found Jake a new home in 2019, but he had to be returned to care after a change in the owner’s circumstances.

After years of not attracting an owner, Jake finally moved in with a couple in Yorkshire, in February 2024, after “several months of successful introductions” with his new owners.

“We love having Jake in our home. It feels like he’s been with us forever, and we couldn’t imagine life without him," Jake’s new owner Veronica said.
