Britain's Next Top Model welcomes first transgender contestant
Britain’s Next Top Model is set to return to our screens next month and this year’s cycle introduces the show’s first transgender contestant.
And she’s predictably gorge.
Talulah-Eve Brown from Birmingham is just 22 years old but is already the holder of Miss. Transgender Birmingham as well as a devoted campaigner for trans-rights.
The hopeful is an event hostess who underwent gender reassignment sugery last year after starting hormone treatment in 2015, and she couldn’t be prouder of her body.
In fact, Talulah has revealed that there isn’t a single thing that she’d change about her gorgeous bod, but her favourite feature is her legs.
Speaking in 2015, Talulah admitted that she is often the victim of a lot of transphobic abuse, telling PA Real Life at the time: “The level of abuse I get is hurtful, but if I was to report every instance of hate crime I’ve experienced to the police, I would be in court every single day.
“Instead, I just hold my head up high. There have been times where I could have potentially been beaten up, but I refuse to hide away and let these people see that they’ve upset me.
“I don’t want to feel like a victim because it isn’t me with the problem. I’m not any less of a person just because I’m transgender.”
A sentiment that we wholeheartedly agree with.
Although Talulah is the first transgender hopeful for the Britain’s Next Top Model series, other franchises of the hit model show have featured many trans* contestants, with Holland’s Next Top Model crowning Loiza Lamers their winner in 2015.
Isis King was the first ever transgender model to compete on any Top Model franchise, taking part in America’s series of the show in both the 2008 and 2011 cycles.
BNTM returns for its second series on Lifetime on March 16th at 9pm, previously airing on Sky Living.
