British Gas issues £69 message to millions of customers and says 'save big'

British Gas has launched a summer offer for millions of its customers and told them they could 'save big'. The energy giant has revealed details of the offer in a message to customers.

It allows homeowners to get their boiler serviced for £69, down from the usual cost of £93. Bosses also encouraged households to take advantage of the offer during summer so they were prepared for winter when they will need to use their boilers more.

People have been reminded of the importance of ensuring they get regular boiler inspections to ensure they are safe and working properly. British Gas said a service was currently available for £69 a year or £5.75 a month.

British Gas said of the 'summer of £69' offer: "Get your boiler serviced from just £69 (was £93). Save in summer so you're sorted for winter."

"£69 offer available for annual contracts signed before 10/9/24. Service must be completed before 30/9/24.

"Get your boiler serviced in three simple steps. Choose the right boiler service for you. Book an annual boiler service to keep your heating in check or upgrade to HomeCare for year-round cover.

"Why get a boiler service? A boiler that’s serviced regularly will be more energy-efficient. You need an annual service to keep your boiler’s warranty valid.

"Your engineer will check everything, including carbon monoxide."
