Brits 2019: 10 most shocking moments from UK's top music awards show, from Oasis to The Spice Girls

The Brits are undeniably tamer than they were during the Brit Pop heyday of the Nineties. That’s not to say organisers haven’t been going to noticeable efforts to liven things up: last year, the ceremony was one of the best in recent years, with blistering performances from Stormzy and Kendrick Lamar two of the highlights.

Jack Whitehall, who is returning this year as host alongside Clara Amfo, impressed with plenty of tongue-in-cheek commentary about many of the biggest artists in attendance. Performances this year will include sets from Hugh Jackman, The 1975, Calvin Harris, Little Mix, Jorja Smith and George Ezra.

While many will claim that nothing quite compares to the days where Robbie Williams tried to start a brawl with Liam Gallagher, or when Chumbawamba poured a jug of water over a furious John Prescott, there have been plenty of memorable moments since then, too.
