Broad City just cast the perfect guest star

It’s an indisputable fact that Steve Buscemi makes anything 15 times better. Even the monstrosities that were ‘The Island’ and ‘I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry’ were made bearable by his presence.

While ‘Broad City’ has never and hopefully will never verge close to being as atrocious as the above, co-creators and stars Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson have recognised that even their delightful show could also be elevated by Buscemi.

Rather than keeping his appearance a secret, the girls decided to share the good news with the rest of the world, taking to Twitter to upload an image of themselves with ‘The Big Lebowski’, ‘Fargo’, and ‘The Sopranos’ actor, and it will instantly warm even the coldest of hearts.

Don’t they just look like the two happiest women in all of New York City?

This isn’t Steve Buscemi’s first guest appearance in a lauded television show, though. He’s popped up on ‘30 Rock’ on five occasions as Lenny Wosniak, twice on ‘The Simpsons’, four times on ‘Portlandia’, twice on ‘Last Week Tonight With John Oliver’, as well as making solitary performances in ‘Bob’s Burgers’, ‘ER’, ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’, and ‘Inside Amy Schumer’, too.

Meanwhile, his web series ‘Park Bench With Steve Buscemi’ was an utter delight, and he was a regular on ‘Horace And Pete’, ‘Boardwalk Empire’, and in the fifth season of ‘The Sopranos’.

When you couple all of that with his cinematic exploits, you quickly realise how much of a coup it is for ‘Broad City’ to have him on the show. But it works both ways, too, because Buscemi will also be grateful to appear on one of the most popular and original shows currently on television, too.

We’re still waiting for news on Buscemi’s exact role, while we can only hope that he’s not just making a fleeting visit to the world of ‘Broad City’. Especially because he already looks so cosy there.
