Fans of DS Ellie Miller and DI Alec Hardy, don't expect to see any more Broadchurch.

Creator Chris Chibnall told Entertainment Weekly that he feels he's done with the detective drama, explaining that he has no more "stories" to tell with the characters.

"I don't have any other series for this world," he said. "There were these three stories. I wouldn't want to do repeated versions of these crimes. I don't think that would ring true to me.

"So at the moment, I don't think I have another story for this world and I'm not sure that will change, really.

"I think it's probably goodbye for good."

It's not the first time Chibnall has ruled out any comeback for the show, either.

Back when the series three finale aired in the UK, he said there was "absolutely" no chance of Olivia Colman and David Tennant reuniting for one last outing.

"That is it and there will be no more after this one, absolutely," he confirmed.

"It's been an extraordinary journey with the show and [its success] has taken us all by surprise."

The final ever episode saw Miller and Hardy find out that it was Michael Lucas (Deon Lee-Williams) who raped Trish (Julie Hesmondhalgh).

However, in a twist, the culprit had been groomed and was forced into the attack by Leo Humphries (Chris Mason), who had previously assaulted multiple women.
