Brooke Vincent has admitted she's 'not ready' for the next step in her eldest son's life in an emotional update. The actress took to social media with a picture of her beaming son Mexx, four, who is preparing to head to primary school.

Brooke is a doting mum to her two sons - Mexx and Monroe - who she shares with her fiance Kean Bryan. Their eldest son made his arrival into the world in October 2019 and just over a year later, in November 2020, Brooke announced she was pregnant with her second child who was born in May 2021.

In her latest Instagram Story post, Mexx could be seen sporting a black shirt and matching black trousers as he held up a large envelope in his hand and smiles for his mum as she took his picture. "His face says it all," she typed alongside a love heart eyes emoji, a red heart and a crying emoji.

She then continued to write: "We went and dropped of Mexx's letter to his primary school to say he will be attending [crying emoji and broken heart emoji] He is so ready for this change. Me... not so much [crying emoji]."

It comes after Brooke said seeing her children's faces made being away from them 'worth it' as she travels the country in her stage debut. As of earlier this month, the former Coronation Street star is touring the country in The Syndicate alongside a number of familiar faces.

It was revealed back in November that the 31-year-old will be starring in the late Kay Mellor’s final stage play that will be touring across the UK, including a stop at The Lowry. Based on the BBC One show of the same name, the play will tell the story of five supermarket workers whose lottery syndicate numbers come in just as their jobs and livelihoods are under threat. It is being directed by Kay’s daughter and former Emmerdale actress Gaynor Faye in her late mum's name.

Brooke, who shot to fame playing Sophie Webster from 2004 to 2019 in ITV's Corrie, is playing Amy, the sister-in-law of supermarket assistant Jamie, who will be played by Gaynor's son Oliver Anthony in his theatrical debut after singer Max George was forced to withdraw from the role, while former Emmerdale actress Samantha Giles also stars.

Following a show, Brooke was able to return home and taking to her Instagram Story, shared a picture of her sons sleeping. "See your little face at night makes it all wroth it. Even if you are asleep," she said with a red heart emoji.

It comes after Brooke responded to potentially being called out by Gemma Atkinson. Brooke stood-in for Gemma on Hits Radio during her maternity leave which came to an end after nine months last week. Taking to her Instagram Story, Gemma spoke in a video alongside co-host Mike Toolan and said: "Hi Brooke, I'm obviously back on the radio...

"The chair where we sit, as in me and you, it's a bit awkward... I've come back and there's what can only be described as s**t on the floor," Gemma explained, tongue-in-cheek, as Mike described it as "discolouration". Gemma continued: "Toolan assures me it wasn't him," to which he said: "It wasn't me and Brooke, I've had to tell Gemma about the time you had the little accident and it's all still there."

Responding to the cheeky post, Brooke reshared the video to her Instagram Story and wrote in a message: "It will be that leftover pizza from 'work bonding day' he took home for Lottie!! Little secret eater that he is," before adding a laughing emoji.
