BTS – the world-conquering Korean pop group – have set another record in the US.

Forbes reports that the boy band’s latest documentary, Burn the Stage: The Movie, grossed $2.3 million over the three-day weekend, making an addition $1.2 on Thursday ($15 November).

With a total box office taking of $3.54 million, it has quickly become the highest-grossing concert film of all time, beating former record holder One Direction. Outside the US, Burn the Stage: The Movie has made an additional $9.3 million.

The result comes as some surprise as much of the footage has already been uploaded to YouTube as the Burn the Stage series. However, the film does feature some original documentary footage and has been re-edited.

BTS have had an impressive few months, recently picking up the People’s Choice Award for best musical group and becoming the first K-pop band to ever top the Billboard 100 chart – doing so twice within the span of a few months.
