Caught on camera: the funny feud in full

A Manchester bus driver’s hilarious war of words with an irate bystander has been caught on camera.

The clip sees the driver standing his ground against a gaggle of locals, one of whom has had her car boxed-in by the bus.

The driver refuses to move from the bus terminus until his allocated time-slot however, arguing that the car shouldn’t have been parked there in the first place.

The man repeatedly asks for the driver’s name, to which he offers the deadpan response, ‘a bus driver,’ much to the chap’s frustration.

The increasingly-irate bystander then hurls a volley of hilarity at the driver, warning that, 'I’m a highly professionally trained person,’ 'you’ve just lost your career,’ and 'you will feel the wrath of it,’ among other terrifying put-downs.

The driver won’t budge, however - well, not until 4.03pm prompt, his allocated departure time, despite being labelled 'arrogant, cocky,’ and ‘obnoxious’ by the bystander, as well as being instructed to 'jog on.’

The video was shared on website Idiot UK Drivers Exposed and has been viewed by almost 400,000 people.

The unnamed driver shared his film on Idiot UK Drivers Exposed’s Facebook page, explaining what happened after he arrived at the bus stop to find a car parked up with no driver in sight.

'I pulled in as much as I could but part of my bus was blocking that car,’ he said. ‘I had about 4-5 minutes before my departure so I switched the engine off and minded my own business’.

But when the car’s owner came back, all hell broke loose! ‘Instead of asking me politely to let her out she started beeping at me so at this point I politely explained that I can’t leave my terminus early and that she shouldn’t be parked there anyway.

‘A moment later this bloke (who was a complete stranger, not related to the car owner, not involved in the situation) turned up recording me on his iPhone and talking a lot, wouldn’t even let me say too much as he kept talking and shouting.

‘At this point I started recording everything on my phone too, just in case. From his behaviour I think he was trying to provoke me to do or say something stupid, he was just looking for a sensation.’

Well, he certainly got that!

A spokesman from bus service providers FirstGroup said: ‘We ask our drivers to remain professional at all times and we will be speaking with our driver to review how this was handled.

‘However, this incident does highlight the difficulties inconsiderate parking causes for all road users alike.’
