There is just one catch to the Georgian mansion boasting six rooms with many of the original features, a coach house, orchard and paddock set it two acres that has gone on sale for a mere £500.

The building is just 75cm high and 90cm wide and is designed for dolls.

It is all too bad for the house hunter who thought the bargain of a lifetime was to be had when an estate agent put up a tongue-in-cheek advert.

Peter Clarke & Co Estate Agents in Shipston, Warwickshire, is raising money for a nursing home are accepting "bids" for the house until the end of September.

Branch manager Sally Coombs told the BBC: "We put it on Rightmove as a joke but we actually had somebody who wanted to view it, thinking it was a proper house.

"We said to the caller that if they looked at it properly, they would see it was a doll's house."

The Rightmove description says the "property" is a "classic Georgian House in a quiet location situated in a popular village in South Warwickshire with many original traditional features".

It says: "Accommodation comprises reception hallway, drawing room, dining room, kitchen, master bedroom with dressing room and en suite bathroom, three further bedrooms, family bathroom, two second floor rooms and bathroom with potential for further accommodation."

The garage, coach house, gardens, orchard and paddock in total amount to approximately two acres, it adds.

The catalogue also boasts the house’s open fireplace and kitchen Aga, along with a string of "original features".  

Along with the description, the listing includes a 'school checker' and a mortgage repayment calculator. 

A spokesman for the estate agent told the Warwick Courier: "It has had quite a bit of interest but we haven’t had any offers as of yet.  

"We do quite a lot with the charity and because our offices in Shipston are quite big they asked us if we wouldn’t mind displaying it for them."
