Cadbury confirms it has scrapped popular chocolate bar much to fans' disappointment

Chocolate lovers across the UK have been left gutted after Cadbury confirmed that one of its popular chocolate bars has been axed. The confectionery titan, hailing from Bournville, Birmingham, made the decision to discontinue its Dairy Milk orange bars, a move that has not gone down well with its fanbase.

The 180g treat was introduced back in 2021, riding the wave of increased demand for chocolate orange varieties.

But eagle-eyed chocoholics began to notice the absence of the beloved bar on the shelves of major retailers like Sainsbury's and Tesco, sparking concern on social media platforms. It appears this isn't an isolated incident, as other orange-flavoured options seem to have vanished too, reports Birmingham Live.

The initial launch of the Dairy Milk orange bar sent waves of excitement through the ranks of chocolate enthusiasts, who were quick to snap up the new offering. Yet, in a recent turn of events, Cadbury has declared that the fruity twist on their classic bar is no longer available, making way for a range of new flavours instead.

A representative for Mondelez International, the parent company of Cadbury, commented on the change: "We continuously adapt our product range to ensure it meets changing tastes whilst supporting growth for our customers and business.", reports Wales Online.

This rather subdued exit has left many fans in a lurch, desperately seeking out their citrusy treat and reaching out to Cadbury for answers. One disappointed customer remarked: "Haven't seen them in stock in ages in Sainsbury's - and their website says Out of Stock as well."

Another queried directly: "Hello, have you discontinued the dairy milk orange? I couldn't see it in Tesco today? ".

Cadbury is known for frequently refreshing its product line, introducing new favourites to the market. Just last month, it unveiled two brand new 180g Dairy Milk chocolate bars - the Caramel Nut Crunch and Nutty Praline Crisp.

However, changes to cherished chocolate treats can leave fans heartbroken. Back in January, customers were left fuming when they discovered that Dairy Milk Marvellous Mix-ups with Oreo had disappeared from the shelves.
