California Firefighters Quick to Put Out Blaze on Their Own Doorstep

Firefighters in Irvine, California, were quick to quell a fire that broke out on Sunday, September 15, helped no doubt by the fact that it sparked only 500 feet from one of their own stations.

The fire broke out just off the I-405 highway, near station 47, which enabled firefighters to jump into action quickly.

The Fossil Fire, as it was dubbed, engulfed about 16 acres around Shady Canyon, according to Orange County Fire Authority.
