Nurse Trixie Aylward has been stealing the hearts of Call the Midwife fans since the character arrived in the first episode back in 2012.
Real name Beatrix Franklin, played by Helen George, the much-loved midwife loves nothing more than having a good old chin wag with her colleagues but is always on hand to provide a listening ear to those in need. Trixie has undeniably dedicated herself to providing healthcare to the Poplar community and nothing gets in her way to ensure every baby is delivered with love and care.
She also enjoyed male attention before finding the perfect man in Matthew Alyward and settling down as a family woman. But their relationship hasn't always been smooth sailing and at the end of series 13, which aired earlier this year, Trixie left the East End to join bankrupt Matthew (Olly Rix) in New York.
Fans of the BBC One period drama, created by Heidi Thomas, have seen Trixie grow from a midwife struggling with addiction living in Nonnatus House to a married woman and step-mum.
Trixie is also a fashion icon in Poplar as she always wears the most dazzling clothes as the shows moves throughout the swinging sixties into the 1970s.
