Camberwell police crash: Man charged after four officers injured in south London smash

A man has been charged after four police officers were injured in a crash in south London.

Haydon Martin, 25, is due before magistrates to face two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Witnesses said it was a “miracle anyone survived” as two unmarked police cars in pursuit collided with another vehicle in Draycott Close, Camberwell, shortly before 1.30pm on Tuesday.

The female police driver remains in hospital while with a suspected broken pelvis. Her male colleagues, who were also injured, have been discharged.

A number of roads were closed while emergency services, including London Ambulance Service and the air ambulance, attended.

The Metropolitan Police said Martin, of Fenwick Road in East Dulwich, south east London, is due to appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
