A large campervan burst into flames in Cornwall during the early hours of this morning (Friday, May 13). Fire crews were called to the A30 on Bodmin Moor shortly after 2am.

They arrived at the scene and found the 25ft campervan well alight. The firefighters used breathing apparatus and hose reels to extinguish the blaze.

Pictures from the scene show the vehicle on fire as smoke billows into the air above. The campervan was destroyed by the fire.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: "Two appliances from Launceston and Bodmin and a water carrier from Wadebridge attended a call to a large campervan circa 25 ft long on fire.

"On arrival crews the vehicle was well alight. Crews used four breathing apparatus and two hose reels on the fire."

Launceston Community Fire Station added: "One appliance from Launceston Community Fire Station along with one from Bodmin Community Fire Station were mobilised to a vehicle fire on the A30 near Jamaica Inn.

"On arrival crews discovered a large motor home well alight. Using BA and 2x HRJ, crews got to work extinguishing the fire.

"Due to location and water supply, 1x water carrier from Wadebridge Community Fire Station was requested."
