'I Can't Believe It': Rain Floods Farm in Drought-Stricken Rural New South Wales

A thunderstorm brought much-needed rain to a property in drought-stricken Tingha, flooding the grounds of the property on January 16.

A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for the Northern Tablelands near Inverell and Armidale late on January 15, with damaging wind and heavy rainfall forecast for the area.

Local tourist attraction Green Valley Farm received around 75 millilitres of rain, according to a rain gauge from the site.

Steph Stewart posted this video of flooding at the farm with the message: “I feel guilty for sharing more photos of rain but I (can’t) believe it.”

Rainfall was forecast across most of New South Wales, with firefighters hoping the rain would help extinguish many of the 85 fires burning across the state.
