Captain Tom awarded medal as he celebrates 100th birthday

Captain Tom Moore, the 99-year-old WWII veteran fundraising for the NHS by walking laps of his garden, has had his 100th birthday today. To mark the occasion, and reward his work, Captain Moore was presented with a birthday cake from his old regiment, before being honoured with a Second World War Defence Medal. Moore has also been made an honorary colonel in a letter presented by Lt Col Thomas Miller, commanding officer of the 1st Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment. .
