Manchester City’s dominance of the Carabao Cup has come to an end after they were knocked out of the competition on penalties by West Ham this week - with fellow London sides Arsenal and Chelsea also still in the hat.

The Gunners’ path into the last eight was much smoother than that of their London rivals, with second-half goals from Calum Chambers and Eddie Nketiah sealing a routine 2-0 win over Leeds.

Chelsea looked to be on course for victory against Southampton after Kai Havertz’s goal before the break, but Che Adams hit back and forced a penalty shootout, with Reece James striking the decisive spot-kick after costly misses from Theo Walcott and Will Smallbone.

There was no such joy for QPR, who were bested by League One Sunderland on penalties after a goalless draw.

Like West Ham, Leicester also relied on spot-kicks to knock out Brighton.

Tottenham beat Burnley with a Lucas Moura header and there were wins for Liverpool and Brentford.

When is the Carabao Cup draw?

The draw for the quarter-finals of the 2021/22 Carabao Cup takes place on Saturday October 30, live on Sky Sports’ Soccer AM.

Drawing the teams will be Soccer AM host and former midfielder Jimmy Bullard plus actor Daniel Mays.

“I’m absolutely buzzing to be making the draw, it’s a real honour. One the proudest moments in my career was playing in the League Cup final in 2006 with Wigan Athletic,” said Bullard.

“Even though the result didn’t go our way, to play in a Cup Final in front of all of my family and almost 70,000 fans was a very special occasion.”

When does the Carabao Cup draw start?

The draw is set to start after 10:30am BST today, Saturday, October 30.
