It's not long before Cardiff's Aqua Park opens for the summer - and if you fancy a splash, you can now buy tickets in advance. The inflatable obstacle course will be stationed in Cardiff Bay and thrill-seekers will be able to bounce, hop, slip and slide their way along it from June 8 until September 15.

The park includes a 3.5m slide, monkey bars and two 'tornado towers' where you can flip off 3.5 platforms into the water, as well as 'blast bags' which you can jump onto to launch your friends into the air. It will be open on weekends in June, then will operate seven days a week from July 3 until September 2, before reducing its opening hours until it closes in mid-September.

The experience was "terrifying" but "well worth a go", according to our reporter who tried the park two years ago. You can read her review here. The park is open to children aged eight and older, but those aged eight to 15 should have an adult supervising and observing from the shore or on the aqua park throughout their session. There is minimum height restriction of 1.20m, a requirement that you must be able to swim 25m unaided and be confident in the water, and no weight restriction. If you're booking online, a one-hour session costs £22 during peak days (Saturday and Sunday) and £20 on off-peak days (Monday to Friday).

Meanwhile, two-hour sessions cost £30 and £35 for peak and off-peak hours respectively. If you buy on the day, a one-hour session costs £25 while a two-hour session costs £35. Group tickets are available for crowds of 10 or more, starting from £17 per person.

If you just can't get enough of the fun, you can also get a season pass which grants you entry to all three Aqua Parks in the UK - the other two being in Rutland and Essex. The Cardiff park welcomed 30,000 visitors in 2019. It had to close during the pandemic but returned in 2021 and 2022.

It's located on the Cardiff Bay Barrage and is accessible by foot or bike, but there's no parking on site. The nearest car parks are at Mermaid Quay (CF10 5BS) or Penarth Barrage (CF64 1TP). You can find more information about booking, timings, wetsuit hire, waivers and more on the official website here.
