Cardiff City vs Manchester City
Premier League 2018/19
Venue: Cardiff City Stadium
Date: Saturday, 22 September
Kick-off time: 3pm BST

South Wales will witness a Premier League culture clash as Pep Guardiola's Manchester City take on Neil Warnock's Cardiff City.

Guardiola's Premier League champions have made a strong start to the season, but were left shocked as they fell to a 2-1 Champions League home defeat to Lyon in midweek.

Guardiola was serving a touchline ban for that match, but will be back on the touchline to go toe-to-toe with Warnock as the Cardiff boss seeks to compound City's misery this week.

Head to head record

The sides have met twice in the Premier League back in the 2013-14 season, with Cardiff winning 3-2 at home before Man City sealed a 4-2 victory at the Etihad.

Team news

Warnock says he has to assess "one or two niggles" picked up in Cardiff training, as well as the effects of a virus which has affected the camp this week.

On-loan midfielder Harry Arter should be fit after being forced off by illness at Chelsea last weekend, but Aron Gunnarsson misses out again after suffering another knock in training.

Provisional squad: Etheridge, Smithies, Peltier, Richards, Cunningham, Morrison, Bamba, Connolly, Manga, Bennett, Arter, Damour, Ralls, Camarasa, Paterson, Hoilett, Murphy, Reid, Zohore, Ward, Madine.

Benjamin Mendy is a doubt for the champions, while Kevin De Bruyne and Claudio Bravo remain out of action.
