A resident at an Exmouth care home saw his dream to visit the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth come true.

Robin, a resident at Raleigh Manor care home, had expressed his longing to visit the renowned aquarium.

Staff wasted no time in ensuring his wish was granted, reaffirming that it's never too late for dreams to be realised.

The trip coincided with Robin's birthday, adding an extra layer of significance to the already special occasion.

This was made possible thanks to the 'Make A Wish' initiative held by the care home during the New Year, a tradition designed to discover and fulfil the dreams and desires of the residents.

Grateful for his trip to the aquarium, Robin said: "I have always wanted to go to the National Marine Aquarium and was very excited at the prospect of it actually happening.

"It was a fantastic experience with the main highlights for me being the sharks and the stingrays."

Gill Pratt, general manager at Raleigh Manor, added: "Every day, we are working hard to enrich the lives of all the people who have chosen Raleigh Manor as their home.

"It is especially rewarding for all of us when we can deliver something unique on an individual basis."

Raleigh Manor, operated by Barchester Healthcare, is dedicated to providing residential and dementia care for its over 55 residents, making the effort to personalise care across its various offerings, from respite care to long term stays.
