Carl Radke Is 'Devastated' About Lindsay Hubbard Split, Says Would-Be Wedding Guest Captain Lee Rosbach

The 'Summer House' stars' friend Craig Conover, who appears on the Bravo show alongside girlfriend Paige DeSorbo, also said the broken engagement will "make more sense" once the new season airs

Captain Lee Rosbach is sharing how Carl Radke is coping after his engagement to his Summer House costar Lindsay Hubbard ended.

On the latest episode of PodcastOne’s Salty With Captain Lee, the Below Deck star, 73, shared that he had connected with Radke, 28, after the news of the couple’s split became public.

“Carl and I have had a conversation about this,” he shared. “I am not at liberty to discuss any of that conversation but he is as devastated as anyone I’ve ever seen. One thing that amazed me is the interest in this.”

“It was going to be a very high-profile wedding and it was going to be broadcast on Bravo,” he added. “Is there a graceful way out of something like that?”

Rosbach then weighed in on fan theories about the couple’s split — including speculation that Radke, 37, had cheated, which he immediately laughed off.

However, he noted the theory that Radke’s mother could have played a role in the broken engagement might be accurate, sharing, “I can see where that could happen. You know [mothers] are always involved. You have to have boundaries.”

The reality star also shared that he feels for the former couple as they navigate a public break up.

“The thing that bothers me about Carl and Lindsay is that they are scrutinized so much that they are not allowed to deal with their issues one-on-one together,” he explained. "I am sure it bothers Carl.”

The pair's friend Craig Conover — who appears on Summer House alongside girlfriend Paige DeSorbo — also reacted to news of the split, telling Page Six, he was “very surprised” of the couple parting ways.

“I at least thought they would get married and then whatever happened, happened, but also whenever everyone gets to see the season, it’ll make a lot more sense,” the Southern Charm star, 35, shared.

He added that he saw the former couple’s relationship first-hand while in the Hamptons this summer. "For two months, we had all dealt with this. You know, it’s not like they had a great summer and all of the sudden this happens," he said.

“I just think, obviously, the end result without any context at all was going to be tough for people to wrap their heads around,” he continued. “I think it’ll make more sense with more context, that’s all.”

In a letter to family and friends obtained by PEOPLE earlier this week, Radke announced the end of their engagement and the cancelation of their wedding. He apologized for any confusion or inconvenience this may cause.

"Words cannot possibly express how difficult the last two weeks have been for Lindsay and I," he wrote. "We are so incredibly sorry to all of our guests for the confusion and lack of communication. We were left trying to figure out how this all exactly happened before we could even have the opportunity to determine the path forward amongst ourselves."

"There have been a lot of false narratives and misunderstandings that have made this all the more painful but sadly at this time we are not moving forward with the wedding," Radke continued. "The fact of the matter is Lindsay is devastated and I'm crushed with how all this transpired. I graciously ask for some patience and grace to heal and recover while we navigate this extremely difficult time."

He went on to acknowledge their guests' "commitment of money and time” and discussed alternative travel options for those who would have joined them for the nuptials in Mexico.

The split comes after Radke proposed to Hubbard, 37, at Southampton's Dune Beach last summer after less than one year of dating while filming Summer House season 7.
