Melissa McBride has addressed the rumours that she might be following Lennie James over to Fear the Walking Dead.

Earlier this year, The Walking Dead fans got busy speculating when photos showed McBride hanging out on the set of the spin-off show, but it turns out that she was in Austin, Texas only to learn and not to film.

"I was out there shadowing Michael Satrazemis who's directing one of the episodes. I went out there for about three weeks to shadow him while he directed," she told ComicBook.com.

Hopefully this means that we could see McBride behind the camera as well as in front of it for future episodes of The Walking Dead. For now though, she's just a little bit sad that James is changing shows.

"I just love Lennie and I love his face. I love his eyes are so soulful and it's always a remarkable thing to work with him. So present, always so present as Morgan."

While we might not be seeing Carol on Fear the Walking Dead anytime soon, that doesn't mean other characters won't find their way there, with Andrew Lincoln previously hinting at a crossover.

"It was a very, very sad back eight. There were lots of goodbyes, and big goodbyes as well. But there was a sort of sense, certainly, with Lennie, that it's until we meet again. It's always been that way with Rick and Morgan," he reflected on the filming of season eight.

"I don't know, there's something in the air, that I feel that it's not quite the end yet for Rick and Morgan."

The Walking Dead airs on AMC in the US and Fox in the UK, with Fear the Walking Dead starting on April 15 on AMC in the US and April 23 on BT in the UK.
