Carol Vorderman has teased that the right way of pronouncing Matt Hancock's name is to leave out the "Han".

The former Countdown host is one of many people unimpressed to see the former health secretary on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! and made the comment in a video as she headed to This Morning to talk about the show.

The clip shared on social media showed Vorderman grinning in the back of a car as she told fans: "Apparently to say his name properly the 'Han' is silent. Who knew?"

She then gave it a try.

"Mm, I think I've got it right," she added, with a smirk.

The former health secretary has come under fire for going on the ITV reality show, with his parliamentary whip being suspended and the COVID-19 Bereaved Families for Justice group launching a petition to have him removed from the programme.

Vorderman, 61, discussed it on This Morning, telling hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary that she was getting angrier as she watched Hancock in the jungle.

"I have found that I am getting more and more irate at the fact that he is in there," she said.

"I think viewers are split.

"I am part of those who are starting to shout things that they shouldn't shout at the telly."

Hammond mentioned that some fans of the ITV programme may be starting to warm to the politician a bit.

Vorderman - who was a contestant on I'm A Celebrity herself in 2016 - replied: "I am not warning to him at all because every time he appears on screen now I am shouting obscenities at the television.
