Carrie Johnson arrives at Tory Party conference ahead of her LGBT+ rights speech

Carrie Johnson made a stylish arrival at the Conservative Party Conference, in Manchester on Tuesday ahead of her speech.

Amid her busy schedule, the wife of Prime Minister Boris Johnson will give a speech about the importance of defending LGBT+ rights at the Pride reception.

Having long been an ally of the LGBT+ group, she will appear as a guest of honour at the Pride event.

The event is being hosted by LGBT Conservatives in partnership with charity Stonewall.

Asked whether about Ms Johnson’s speech, her husband told the BBC: “I’m sure it’s gonna be great.”

The wife of the PM, who is currently pregnant with her second child, looked delighted on arrival.

Ahead of the speech, Chairwoman of LGBT+ Elena Bunbury said: “Carrie is a longstanding ally, and has always been a good sport to LGBT+ Conservatives.

“She even judged our virtual lip-sync last conference. We’re thrilled she’ll be joining us in person this year in Manchester.”

It comes after Mr Johnson recently confirmed he is the father of six children and changes a lot of nappies.

During a TV interview on NBC News/Today, Ms Guthrie asked the PM: “What is it like to have little babies in?”

Mr Johnson replied: “It’s fantastic. It’s fantastic.

“Well, you know, it’s a lot of work. It’s a lot of work, I’ll tell you that much. But I love it. I absolutely love it. I change a lot of nappies.”
