Are Cassandra and Tristan from MAFSAU together now?

While Celebrity Big Brother slightly scratched our reality TV itch, it's Married At First Sight Australia that's really doing it for us right now. The show sees participants meet for the first time at the altar after being matched by a team of experts, and enter into married life together.

This season has delivered on massive bombshells and dramatic exits, with fans desperately holding out hope for Cassandra and Tristan's happy ending. But are the pair still together now?

What happened for Cassandra and Tristan during Married At First Sight Australia?

Cassandra, a 30-year-old micro-influencer from the Gold Coast and Tristan, a 29-year-old DJ from Sydney, were one of the first couples to tie the knot this season of MAFSAU.

The pair seemed to connect early on, with their wedding day going swimmingly, and their honeymoon sending them from strength to strength. They've successfully stayed out of the dinner party dramas, and took on Confessions Week with ease.

All that said, though, the pair struggled to form an intimate connection, with Tristan and Cassandra not sharing a kiss on honeymoon, and him sharing his worries that they might not have a sexual bond. Tristan also shared how his insecurities and past experiences with his weight have led him to feeling unsure about people's intentions, while the pair consistently worked through his doubts on the expert's sofa.

*SPOILERS*

Unfortunately the pair never created a romantic bond, despite how much they seemed to care about each other. While Tristan did tell Cassandra he loved her, the pair both wrote 'LEAVE' during episode 29's commitment ceremony.

It was clear they both wanted it to work, but couldn't take it beyond a platonic bond - there was no sexual chemistry or romantic spark.

During an interview with Daily Mail, published on 12th March 2024, Tristanwas asked where their relationship currently stands. He replied, "I've put my guard back up a bit, which is a bit annoying. We are still very close, but it's just a bit of a hinder. At the end of the day, like I said before, 'There's one thing me and Cass do well and that's number one, honesty, and number two, trying.'"

He added, "We are gonna give this marriage our best shot, and hopefully we can just fix it, if we cannot, I know one thing is that whatever happens, I'll still have Cass in my life."

The pair were photographed walking into the Married At First Sight Australia reunion together, while they have also posted sweet tributes to each other on social media, and have shown their support in the comments.

So it seems that while they might not be together romantically, they are on good terms at least.

Married At First Sight Australia continues on E4.
