An old EastEnders favourite made an appearance on Casualty last night (May 20), as Michael Greco, famous for playing Walford's dodgy hunk Beppe Di Marco in the early 00s, starred in an episode of the hospital-based soap.

Luckily for absolutely everyone, Michael hasn't lost his good looks – or his six pack – in the fifteen years that have passed since he was last seen on Albert Square, and viewers at home were thrilled to have him back on their screens.

And you better believe they tweeted about it too:

Michael played police officer Phil in a guest appearance on the show. In typical Casualty style, he conveniently collapsed in the Emergency Department while in pursuit of a troublemaker he'd been called out to arrest, where the team were on hand to assist him.

It wasn't long before Beppe, sorry, Phil turned on the charm that viewers at home were so accustomed to and started flirting with Doctor Elle – to little success, somehow.

Unfortunately Michael won't be returning to the show, so fans will have to make do with re-watching last night's episode on iPlayer to tide them over.

Casualty recently dropped a teaser ahead of the soap's summer trailer dropping next week, promising a world of drama in the summer months as Ethan seeks revenge for the murder of his brother Cal.

Casualty returns to BBC One on Saturday, June 3.
