Couple guilty of neo-Nazi group membership

A couple who named their baby after Hitler have been convicted of neo-Nazi terror charges.

Adam Thomas and Claudia Patatas were found guilty of being members of the extreme right-wing organisation National Action, which was banned in 2016.

The jury heard the couple had given their child the middle name “Adolf”, which self-confessed racist Thomas said in evidence was in “admiration” of Hitler.

Former Amazon security guard Thomas was also convicted of having a copy of a document likely to be of use to a terrorist, namely the Anarchist’s Cookbook.

Briton dies from rabies after cat bite on holiday

A Briton has died after contracting rabies while abroad in Morocco.

Public Health England (PHE) issued a warning to travellers after the UK resident contracted the disease after being bitten by a rabid cat.

It is understood the person was bitten a few weeks ago but did not receive a vaccine until it was too late.

Jo Johnson accuses Theresa May of deceiving British people over Brexit

Theresa May has been accused of a “calculated deceit” of the British public by one of her own former ministers Jo Johnson.

Jo Johnson said the Prime Minister was trying to conceal from voters the bitter price of leaving the EU, even under the terms she aims to announce this week.

He said more ministers are likely to break ranks, including by making calls for a fresh referendum on whether to press ahead with Brexit or stay in the EU.

The UK is trying to hammer out a deal with the EU in the next 48 hours.

Gardeners praised for Remembrance Day mural

A self-employed gardener has received a stream of supportive messages for his intricate mural for Remembrance Day drawn in dirt on the back of his van.

Shaun Harvey, 34, spent an hour-and-a-half using his finger and a brush to create the image after a request from his six-year-old son, Zak.
