A convicted paedophile has been jailed for life for the ‘Babes in the Woods’ murders 32 years ago.

Russell Bishop, now 52 and serving a prison sentence for the attempted murder of a seven-year-old girl, sexually assaulted and strangled nine-year-olds Nicola Fellows and Karen Hadaway in 1986.

He was charged but alter set free after a botched police enquiry, but has finally been found guilty after new DNA evidence came to light.

A teenage goalkeeper has died after he was injured in a “collision” with another player during a youth football match.

Luca Campanaro, who captained the Bedgrove Dynamos under 13s, was injured during a game in Aylesbury on 9 December.

He was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital but died on Monday.
