Snow sweeps across UK as Met Office extends weather warnings

Snow has begun to blanket parts of the UK with up to 10cm forecast on high ground.

Yellow snow and ice warnings are in place from the Met Office, covering parts of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Motorists have been warned to expect delays on icy roads, and trains and planes are likely to be affected.

Ex-Labour MP jailed over speeding fine lies

A former Labour MP has been jailed for three months for lying to avoid a speeding ticket.

Fiona Onasanya, the MP for Peterborough and an ex-Labour whip, was convicted of perverting the course of justice after a retrial.

She was sentenced at the Old Bailey in London alongside her brother Festus Onasanya, who pleaded guilty to three similar charges.

Theresa May begs EU to save her Brexit deal

Theresa May has told MPs she will try and reopen Brexit negotiations with the EU in an attempt to secure a deal that Parliament approves of.

EU officials have consistently said they are not willing to renegotiate to Withdrawal Agreement.

She made the pledge before MPs have their say in a number of Brexit votes, one of which would require the PM to go back to Brussels and plead for a change to the Irish backstop.

Motorist stopped by police for driving with tiny snow peephole in car windscreen

A motorist has been caught driving a snow-covered car with just a small peephole cleared in their windscreen.

The driver was stopped by police in the Scottish Highlands and issues with a fixed penalty notice.
