The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have taken us inside Kensington Palace to show how they are supporting their charities while self-distancing amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Catherine and William took to Instagram to help launch new guidelines to support people with mental health conditions during these testing times, alongside two mental health charities for which they are patrons. They also shared a rare glimpse of their home office set-up in the two new photos.

The pictures show both the Duke and Duchess on the phone at wooden desks. Kate is sitting in a striped antique chair surrounded by colourfully bound books, while William's set up is features an ornamental lamp perched on his desk and a large gold mirror on the fireplace mantel above.

The caption read: 'Self-isolation and social distancing can pose huge challenges to our mental health — in recent weeks The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been in regular contact with organisations and patronages to understand the issues they are facing during this difficult time.

'Last week ☎️ The Duke spoke to @mindcharity CEO Paul Farmer, and The Duchess spoke to Catherine Roche, CEO of @_place2be.'

They continued: 'It is great to see the mental health sector working together with the NHS to help people keep on top of their mental well-being. By pulling together and taking simple steps each day, we can all be better prepared for the times ahead.'

In the photos, Catherine is wearing the pink Marks and Spencer trouser suit she wore to thank frontline NHS workers on a visit to an ambulance centre in Croydon recently.

Last week, the Cambridges shared a sweet video of their children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis — joined in the Clap for our Carers campaign to show their gratitude for our nurses, doctors and NHS staff.
