The theft happened outside the Bowdon Parish Centre on Stamford Road at around 1.35pm on June 10, police said. The victim told officers a man was 'filming the church' before she turned away and her bag was stolen.

The victim's bank card was then used at a local Argos shop inside a Sainsbury's and at a Tesco store. Police said £140 was spent on the stolen card.
