CCTV appeal after fire extinguisher thief goes on wrecking spree

Police have released CCTV of a man they want to speak in connection with an early-morning wrecking spree. Officers say a man entered an address in May Place, Newcastle, before deliberately causing damage.

A fire extinguisher was also taken during the incident which happened at 5.10am on May 4. The suspect is described as white, about 5ft 7ins tall with a medium build and in his 30s. He was wearing dark clothing.

Now Staffordshire Police are members of the public who recognise a man captured on camera to get in touch.

A force spokesman said: "We are releasing CCTV images of a man we’d like to speak to in connection with a theft and criminal damage to a property in Newcastle-under-Lyme. We were calle to reports that a man had entered an address on May Place, caused damage and had taken a fire extinguisher.

"No one inside the property was injured. We’ve been carrying out enquiries into the incident since it was first reported and can now share an image of the man we want to speak to. If you know him or if you’ve got any information that can help us, please get in touch."
