Two people allegedly stole a motorbike – by towing it away with a horse.

In CCTV footage which captured the moment in Dartford, Kent, a horse’s head can be seen sticking out from the side of a house.

The small animal then slowly emerges into the road before an orange motorbike carrying two males rolls along behind it.

Attached to the bike with a purple harness, the animal appears to struggle to pull the weight of the vehicle and its passengers as the duo make a slow getaway.

The older male’s face is obscured by his hood as he rides along holding onto the reins, while the younger male, who appears to be a child, hangs off the side.

The bike's owner had reportedly only had the vehicle for two months.

The video was posted by the UK Motorcycle Theft Protest group on Twitter and shared by the Dartford Gossip Facebook page.

In the footage, a passer-by can be seen walking along the pavement on the opposite side of the road but he doesn’t appear to react to the bizarre scene.

A spokesman for Kent Police confirmed they had received a report of a KTM Duke motorbike “being towed away by a horse and two people”.

He told The Independent: “Kent Police received a report at 5.48pm on Tuesday 10 September that a bike parked in Hayes Road, Dartford, had been stolen. At present no arrests have been made and initial enquiries are underway.”
