New CCTV images have been released of a missing teenager from Oldham who is now believed to be in London.

Dillon Duffy went missing from the Chadderton area on Tuesday (June 18). His mum Donna Duffy, who said she is 'living every parent's worst nightmare', said she had dropped him close to the Asda supermarket on Milne Street at around 8am and that he was supposed to go to work from there - but never showed up.

The 18-year-old's phone 'pinged' at Manchester Piccadilly station that afternoon, but has been switched off since. Police now believe Dillon travelled on a train to London Euston, with the last sighting of him reported at the busy station at around 4.48pm on Tuesday.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the Metropolitan Police in London are now leading the investigation and have taken over the search. British Transport Police officers are also assisting.

In an update posted on social media yesterday, Dillon's mum Donna said: "I'm worried sick please if anyone has any contacts in London please share. He is now missing and all we know is that he booked a train ticket to London Euston.

"He has switched his phone off and there is no activity on social media. This is a parents' worst nightmare.

"If anyone has any details or know any whereabouts of Dillon's location please contact myself or the local police. I'm worried sick and just want to know he is safe somewhere."

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News yesterday, she said: "I dropped him off at Asda in Chadderton and he was supposed to go to work for 8am, which was over the road. But he's not turned up for work. That's the last I saw of him.

"I think the police have said this his phone was pinged at Manchester Piccadilly and that's it... we've not seen anything else since. His phone has been off since then."

Dillon is described as being a white male who is around 5ft 9in tall and of medium build. His 'dirty blonde hair' is cut 'very short'.

The teenager was last seen wearing a dark grey North Face zip-up hooded jacket, which has a white logo on the front left-side of the chest. He was also wearing black slim-fitting tracksuit bottoms and black and grey Nike trainers with white soles.

Dillon was also spotted wearing a beige baseball cap and carrying a black Puma backpack in the latest CCTV images released of him. He is believed to have a Simpsons novelty blanket with him.

The M.E.N has contacted the Met Police for further information. Information can be reported by calling 101.
