Police have issued CCTV images after a city centre shop was targeted by burglars.

The burglary took place at Johnny Goggles opticians in North John Street on Tuesday, June 11 when it was reported entry had been gained to the premises and 21 pairs of high value designer glasses had been stolen.

A 43-year-old man from Kirkdale was arrested on suspicious of burglary, and he has been conditionally bailed. Police have now issued CCTV images of three men who they believe may have information in connection with the investigation.

Detective Constable Harry McGarva said: “If you recognise the men pictured, please come forward as they may have vital information to help our investigation. The burglary of business premises is not a victimless crime – it can impact on people’s livelihoods, their income and can of course carry a significant emotional impact for victims.

“Likewise, if you have any information about the incident or believe you may have been offered stolen goods, please get in touch and we will do the rest.”
