Celebrities Including Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande And Lorde Offer Support To Kesha After Dr Luke Trial Ruling

After a New York judge ruled yesterday that Kesha has to remain in her contract with Sony Records, celebrities from both sides of the Atlantic have rallied round and offered their support for the pop star.

The singer, who broke down in court as the decision was announced, is currently locked in a legal battle with her former producer Dr Luke – who she claims emotionally and psychologically abused her for years.

Kesha wanted to leave her contract with Sony, in order to prevent working with him ever again.

However, the judge presiding over the case - Justice Kornreich – yesterday said, “My instinct is to do the commercially reasonable thing” and ruled in favour of Sony Records.

Lady Gaga was one of the most high-profile stars to comment on the case, and said she was ‘in awe’ of the singer. She tweeted: 'There are people all over the world who love you @KeshaRose. And I can say truly I am in awe of your bravery.’

Ariana Grande said that her 'heart was with’ Kesha, whilst Lorde – who’s criticised the tough male-dominated nature of the record industry before, tweeted: 'standing with @KeshaRose through this traumatic, deeply unfair time. send good vibes her way everyone’.

Lily Allen also had her bit to say on the whole affair, tweeting: 'My thoughts are with @KeshaRose today. I’m sorry you’ve had to endure this experience’ – later adding ’#richwhitemen f**ky'all’.

The TiK-ToK hit-maker didn’t speak to reporters yesterday - simply hugging some of her fans who had assembled outside the courtroom to offer their support during the hearing. The star is yet to comment publicly on the ruling, but tweeted a few days ago thanking people for their support:

'thank you for all the support in my legal case animals. i love all of you. it’s meant the world to me. xoxo ’
