Little Mix fans got their dream reunion tonight as Jesy Nelson rejoined the girl group...as a biscuit.

Her friend and former bandmate Jade Thirlwall was the winning contestant in the latest Celebrity Great British Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer and secured her victory with a 3D biscuit and meringue sculpture of Little Mix exactly as they should be - with four members.

Nelson quit the group in December 2020, but when Thirlwall was tasked with baking a showstopper representation of something she couldn't live without, she appeared back on stage as an iced biscuit.

It was a welcome sight for all of their fans who have been heartbroken by the split and have been missing seeing the group all together.

The series was actually filmed earlier last year, before Nelson left, but the group's fans were still emotional at the scene.

Thirlwall beat her competition with fondant fancies inspired by her favourite drink, a pornstar martini, and by winning the technical challenge to make a cherry lattice tart with custard.

At the opposite end of the baking skills scale was YouTuber, rapper and boxer JJ Olatunji, better known as KSI.

His baking disasters included punching a bowlful of butter when the instructions called for it to be beaten, burning his hand by trying to remove a tin from the oven without gloves, and making fondant fancies that he refused to even try himself.

KSI had a brief moment of triumph as he made perfect custard in the technical challenge, but as he passed on his tips to rivals Katherine Ryan and Stacey Dooley, his own cherry tart fell apart through an ill-judged move to a cake stand.

Ryan impressed with her meringue showstopper of dogs, but Dooley had judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith in fits of laughter over her attempt at baking a biscuit Gloria Estefan.

Thirlwall, who talked about losing her aunt and grandmother to cancer as she explained why she had taken part, was crowned this week's Star Baker.

Next week, the final batch of celebrities this series take to the Celebrity Bake Off tent.
