Lorraine Kelly has apologised for a misunderstanding about Celebrity Big Brother's Ekin-Su Culculoglu.

The TV host had said Celebrity Big Brother's Ekin-Su Culculoglu has pulled the plug on her TV appearance on Lorraine on Monday in discussion with Susanna Reid and Ed Balls. However, now the Scottish star has done a U-turn and said that there has been a "misunderstanding" because Culculoglu hadn't pulled out of the programme.

On the official Lorraine TV Instagram, the apology read: "We'd like to clear up a misunderstanding. Ekin-Su did not pull out of the show or throw the programme into chaos this morning. We'd love to welcome her back on the programme soon. We apologise for any confusion."

Culculoglu was devastated when she was voted out of the Celebrity Big Brother house during Friday's double eviction which also saw Dragons' Den star Levi Roots leave.

Following her exit, the Love Island star appeared on Big Brother's spin off chat show Late & Live. Culculoglu criticised the Celebrity Big Brother edit before she had even had the chance to watch the reality series back herself.

During Good Morning Britain on Monday, presenters Reid and Balls tuned into speak to TV host Lorraine Kelly. Never shy to speak her mind, Reid claimed Culculoglu was meant to be appearing on Lorraine which starts at 9am but she appeared to be a no-show.

While remaining cool and collected, TV host Kelly admitted she had no idea what had happened and her TV crew were trying to get to the bottom of it. She said: "I thought she would be here, alas, I don't know what has happened. We're trying to find out but no!"

Speculating over why Culculoglu may have decided not to turn up, the TV host pointed out that the reality star wasn't happy when she left the Celebrity Big Brother house. She added: "She wasn't happy. She genuinely wasn't pleased or happy."

Reid said she much preferred doing live television because it is "all there" without any edits. The presenters laughed about how they couldn't blame the edit of live television.

Yahoo has reached out to Culculoglu's representatives for further comment.

Previously, I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here's Nella Rose cancelled a TV appearance on Lorraine following her exit. She too had been in the eye of a media storm over her fiery on-screen rows. Instead, the influencer appeared on This Morning to tell her side of the story later in the week.

The mystery around Culculoglu's TV appearance comes after she hit out at the Celebrity Big Brother edit on Late & Live. Her comments come after Layton Williams had no qualms telling Culculoglu that he felt for Marisha Wallace over the Celebrity Big Brother spat.

There were tears and tantrums in the Celebrity Big Brother house after Wallace nominated for friend Culculoglu in the face-to-face nominations because she would "beat" her in the final of the show. Culculoglu then refused to "forgive" her.

But Williams took Wallace's side saying Culculoglu should have shaken off the nominations in the same way Louis Walsh did. He said: "Marisha had to pick someone, just like you picked Louis. Louis squashed it and you know, just kept it moving. Unfortunately you dragged it on."

He added: "I did feel for Marisha in that moment. Do you know what, it was her big day, she had just been told she had been nominated for an Olivier Award and to see her crying."

Culculoglu cut Williams off to get her point across about the editing of the show. She hit back: "You haven't seen everything, they cut stuff out."

However, the Strictly Come Dancing star wasn't going to let it go as he insisted they weren't going to blame it on the edit of the show. He explained: "We're not going to blame it on the edit. One thing you're not going to do is blame it on the edit. We see what we see and it's a shame. It was a big shame."

Will Best then opened the floor asking if there was anyone on Culculoglu's side but he struggled to find someone who would say they were on the evicted star's side.

Then host AJ Odudu reasoned Culculoglu could hardly blame the edit of Celebrity Big Brother when she's not had a chance to watch it back, saying: "You've literally just walked out of the house."

She went on: "It's interesting as you've literally just walked out of the house, you can't have seen what's been shown and what's been said. But I can assure you that everything that has been seen and has been shown, has been said by you!"

Before Culculoglu was voted out, her family made an emotional plea on Instagram for Celebrity Big Brother viewers to be kind to her. Her family said the star had received "physical abuse threats" in an Instagram post.

Her family wrote on social media: "Last night was a really sad episode to watch. Ekin-Su has always cared and worn her heart on her sleeve and last night we saw that.

"What made last night a thousand times harder though is seeing and listening to hateful comments, trolling, name calling and physical abuse threats. Nobody deserves this behaviour and to read some of what we did last night.
