Celtic fan left stunned as Dermot Desmond walks into pub to watch Scottish Cup semi-final

Irish billionaire Dermot Desmond left Celtic supporters gobsmacked by casually strolling into a pub to catch the team's Scottish Cup semi-final showdown with Aberdeen. The Hoops triumphed in a nail-biting encounter last Saturday, securing a 6-5 victory on penalties following a 3-3 draw after extra time.

Yet, for one Celtic fan working behind the bar at Finnegan's Pub in Rome during the match, the real surprise was seeing Desmond saunter in for a pint. As reported by The Daily Record, the well-known Irish haunt was packed with Celtic fans, but none were as surprised as barman Michael to find himself serving the club's chairman.

He recounted his experience on A Celtic World Podcast, complete with a video of the Parkhead bigwig, saying: "I had a very entertaining time! I was working behind the bar and about 20 minutes before kick-off, I looked over and thought I'd seen a ghost coming up to the bar."

"I looked at this guy and thought, 'that's Dermot Desmond! ' I stared at him and he stared back at me. I stared at him again, as if to say 'you look like Dermot Desmond'."

"And he looked back at me as if to say, 'I am Dermot Desmond.' I couldn't f***** believe it. He just walked into the pub to come and watch the football.", reports the Irish Mirror.

"Some people got photographs with him before the match and at half-time. He was sitting up by the bar drinking alcohol-free beer. He was with a lady and some younger guy. I couldn't believe he turned up."
