Michael van Gerwen and Luke Humphries heaped praise on Luke Littler during the teenager's meeting with Rob Aspinall in the Premier League Darts quarter-final. The 17-year-old sensation impressed the duo as he wrapped up a 6-5 win to book himself a place in the semi-finals.

As he checked out a double 20 to go 4-3 up over Aspinall, Littler left Van Gerwen and Humphries in awe of his composure. While throwing a few practice darts behind the scenes at the P&J Live in Aberdeen, the Dutchman commented: "What a dart... under pressure."

Then, Humphries added: "He's so good under pressure." Littler has earned himself a reputation for his excellent ability to keep his composure in high-pressure situations despite being so inexperienced – so much so that he's begun dishing out taunts to the crowds.

After the Aspinall clash, 'the Nuke' held his fingers to his lips in the direction of a boisterous crowd. He was subject to a few jeers for the second Premier League week in a row; he received some flack from fans in Liverpool last week after cruising past Gerwyn Price, Aspinall and Van Gerwen.

Littler, who grew up in Warrington, held his index finger to his lips to 'shhh' the Scottish locals, who may have just become his new rivals. Even Aspinall looked rather surprised by his bold celebration before the duo shook hands and parted ways off the podium.

The teenage sensation went on to face Rob Cross in the final, who had overcome Van Gerwen and Humphries in his respective matches. Littler recorded a fourth nightly win in the 2024 BetMGM Premier League, defeating the 33-year-old 6-4.

One user, who goes by @ElliotGCFC on X, formerly known as Twitter, posted: "Unplayable. Unbelievable. Star. Luke Littler [clapping hands emoji."

While @DeanHodges97 said: "17 years old and he’s the best player in his sport and it’s not even close either. GOAT."

And @itwobob added: "Brilliant thank you too all the players tonight great viewing. Special thanks to Luke Littler. Darts vs Smith a joy to watch. Love Thursday PL Darts."
